Anomalies Soil Temperatures in Croatia from March to August 2000. pdf HR EN | 291 | |
Summary: This paper aims to present soil temperature deviations from the mean values over several years, the dates of occurrence of soil temperatures exceeding 5 oC and 10 oC and the the mean monthly soil temperature trends from March to August in the period 1955-1999.Compared to the mean values over several years, in spring and summer of the year 2000, soil temperatures at 5 cm and 20 cm were considerably higher. In spring, in the western and eastern parts of Croatia, temperatures measured at 5 cm showed an increase ranging from 1.1 oC (?akovo) to 3.8 oC (Križevci) and those measured at 20 cm from 1.5 oC (Slavonski Brod) to 2.5 oC (Križevci). The noted positive trend in soil temperatures in the spring and summer months indicates that a considerably warmer soil can be expected in the future. Compared to the mean dates of occurrence of these temperatures over several years, this year soil temperatures exceeding 5 oC and 10 oC were up to 10 days earlier in some places.
