Summary: The forest vegetation on the island of Čiovo consist of two physiographically different vegetation types: the holm-oak - Quercus ilex -forests and the Aleppo pine - Pinus halepensis - forests. In this work the plantsociological and syntaxonomical analysis of the evergreen holm-oak (Quercus ilex) forests has been made.The researches have shown that the holm-oak forests on the island of Čiovo belong to the association Myrto-Quercetum ilicis. This forest association has been studied on two localities: Sv. Križ in the central part of the island and in Okrug donji in the western part of the island.
The floral composition of the ass. Myrto-Quercetum ilicis from the island of Čiovo is shown in table 1, on the basis of 6 plantsociological records.
