Investigating the Combustible Propety of Noncommercial Tree Species for Generating Heat and Electrical Energy     pdf     HR     EN 169
Summary: Forest biomass has increasingly been used as a means of finding new solutions for heat and electrical energy production. Non-commercial tree species, as well as wood remains from forests can efficiently supply heat-generating and electrical energy production plants.
The paper presents a method of extracting and managing a non-commercial tree species of a shrub form called False indigo (Amorpha fruticosa L.). This species is very interesting for the production of a certain kind of energy. False indigo was felled in a forest area and two samples were made: one in late autumn and the other in spring with the goal of determining wood moisture. Both samples were chipped and the obtained material was prepared for burning in a boiler of 1 MW.
By burning the material, heat characteristics, the temperature of firebox, the temperature of smoke gases and the temperature of water in the boiler were monitored on the measuring device. Wood moisture was measured in the laboratory and directly in the storage.
