| The Botanical Garden of the School in Kaštel-Lukšić

Summary: The Botanic garden of the Primary school "Ostrog" in
Kastel-Luksic near to the town Split covers an area of about 4.0 ha., and was
established in 1976.
In this Garden are about 1000 taxa of the exotic species and geographic
origin most of them are from subtropics regions. Also, some of them are autochtonous
species of conifers and broadleaved. They are very interesting for
education of pupils and very interesting of scientific i.e. for botany, silviculture,
horticulture and landscape gardening, forestry and cultivation, urban
forestry.
Department of Protection Nature Republic of Croatia proclaimed 1986. the
Botanic garden of the Primary school "Ostrog" in Kastel-Luksic protective
monument of horticulture as unique School botanic garden in Croatia.
