| Summary: Dendroclimatological research was conducted in even-aged beech stands in the belt of climatozonal beech forests in the Pannonian part of Croatia (Fagetum croaticum pannonicum Horv. 1938). The aim was to establish dendrochronological changes and “stresses”, in other words, to date these occurrences and compare them with climatic data from the meteorological station Požega.Dendroclimatological research in beech stand in the Pannonian part of Croatia indicates global warming in nature. The analysis of mean values of vegetational quotients shows an exceptionally high variability for a hundred-year period from 1885 to 1984. This points to re-distribution of precipitation in the most risky period of the year – the period of vegetation, which means that the increment of beech trees and stands is poorer in terms of quality and lower in terms quantity. The results obtained from the analyses of the vegetational quotient time series (VC) with increment ratios (ih5/id5) show that the quality and quantity of the merement of beech trees and stands is poorer than indicated by research so far.
