Dendroclimatological analysis of common beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) on Papuk     pdf     HR     EN 29
Summary: Dendroclimatological research was carried out in even-aged beech stand in the belt of climatozonal beech in the Pannonian part of Croatia (Fagetum croaticum pannonicum Horv. 1938). The aim was to establish dendrochronological changes and ”stresses”, that is, to date these occurrences and compare them with climatic data of the Požega meteorological station.Dendroclimatological research in beech stands of the Pannonian region in Croatia has shown global warming in the nature.Mean values of vegetational quotients show distinet variability over a hundred-year-period 1885-1984. The quotient variability shows that precipitation in the most risky period of the year the vegetation period, has been arranged. This has resulted in a lowered quality and quantity of beech tree and stand increment. The results obtained from the analysis of vegetation quotient time series (VC) with the increment relations (ih5/id5) show a worsened quality and quantity of beech tree and stand increment in relation to the results from research so far.
Key words: dendroclimatology; time series; vegetation quotient; common beech
