Influence of Weather Conditions on the Occurrence of Forest Fires Along the Adriatic Coast and Islands During 1994.     pdf     HR     EN 39
SUMMARY: This paper deals with weather conditions and their influence
on the occurrence of forest fires along the Adriatic Coast and islands from
1st April up to 30th September 1994. Dry periods indicated by the meteorological
index of forest fire risk resulted in an increase of sectors in classes
of great and very great risk in July and August, contributing to a larger
number of forest fires of greater dimensions.

The combined efficient operation of hired anti-fire airplanes Canadair
CL-215, six anti-fire helicopters Ml-8, operating in pairs from airports at
Krk, Split and Dubrovnik, together with the new organization of Croatia Fire
Brigade Association, considerably reduced the burned area per forest fire.SUMMARY: This paper deals with weather conditions and their influence
