SUMMARY: The author discusses the syntagm of sustainable development
on the principles of sustainable forest management and the forest as a regenerative
nature resource. Former research of theoretical and applied character
is also analysed.


Special attention is paid to Levakovioe´s growth function and the fundamental
law of growth and increment as an integral result of growth forces and suppressed
forces with oscillations in the observed period.


After analysing the relationship between open an closed, living and inanimate
systems, the author stresses the decisive impact of energy exchange between
the system and the environment.


This paper is aimed at establishing the numerical index, the coefficient of
internal growth © as a representative of the law of growth and site - class determination.
