SUMMARY: The paper represents the results of an investigation into the
state of nutrition in Pedunculate Oak trees with slight and severe damages.
It was established that in the case of more severely damaged Pedunculate
Oak trees in the Pokupsko basin decreased nutrition with potassium, nitrogen,
calcium magnesium and phosphorus occurs.


An investigation of seasonal nourishment rates showed that the nitrogen
concentrations are highest at the begining of vegetation, and they are usually
higher in non-damaged trees. Phosphorus shows characteristic lowering concentrations
during summer, regardless of damage. With regard to potassium
markedly lower concentrations were determined in damaged trees during the
whole period of vegetation. Calcium is characterised by a constant increase
of its concentration in leaves with increasing age. The leaves of the more
severely damaged Pedunculate Oak trees contained relatively more sulphur.


Chloroplast ultrastructure in damaged trees of the Pedunculate Oak indicates
intensive weathering processes.
