SUMMARY


Boundaries and distribution of the Adriatic karst region on the basis of the
natural vegetation


In the introduction is emphasized the former approach to problems of the
Adriatic ka>rst region without its demarcation and separation from the inland
subalpine or the Dinaric karst region. For the sake of a better viewing of the
essence of the problem of the nature protection and karst improvement in the
Adriatic region mention is made of the geographical criterion of the demarcation
by way the water divide of the catchments areas of the rivers of the Adriatic
and Black Sea systems also stressing the deficiencies of the boundaries fixed
in this manner.


For the division and separation of the Adriatic karst region the phytogeographical
criterion is most suitable, which separates clearly the region of the
xerophilous vegetation of the Mediterranean and sub-Mediterranean zones from
the continental zone of the mesophilous vegetation, the submontane, montane
and subalpine Bech and coniferous forests.

Ova skica nema pretenzije da prikaže sve, pa i najsitnije pojedinosti, nego
da ukaže na određene osnovne prirodne zakonitosti rasporeda klimatogene vegetacije
na području Jadranskog primorja.
