U periodu istraživanja u ovim šumama nađeno je, opisano i determinirano 20 vrsta gusenica iz familije Geometridae. Sve vrste su opisane u 11 rodova. Najštetnije, a istovremeno i najbrojnije su bile iz rodova Erannis i Cosymbia. Rod Erannis zastupljen je sa 4 vrste, Cosymbia sa 3, a sa jednom vrstom su rodovi Alsophila, Apocheima, Biston i Collotois. Ostali rodovi zastupljeni su sa dve vrste. Vrste iz rodova Cosybia i Phigalia nisu mogle da se odrede prema morfološkim (karakteristikama gusenice. Za dve vrste nisu mogli da se odrede rodovi, verovatno su u pitanju mediteranske vrste gusenica te su u radu opisani kao Geometriade sp. U submediteranskoim području Kosova najzastupljenija je Operophthera brumata L. d Erannis defoliaria CL., u umerenokontinentalnom Erannis defoliaria CL, a u planinskom Erannis leucophaearia Schiff. U svim hrastovim šumama Kosova, gustoća populacije i disperzija jedne, odnosno više vrsta gusenica je neujednačena u istim klimatogenim šumama za isti period vremena. LITERATURA 1. SUMMARY Results of observations on the occurence and morphological characteristics of harmful caterpillars from fam. Geometridae in the oak forests of the Province Kosovo Investigations of the defoliators from the fam. Geometridae were performed during 1970—1973 in the pure Oak forests of the Province of Kosovo bearing the characteristics of three climates, viz. the sub-Mediterranean, moderately continental and the mountainous one. During the period of three-year investigations were found, described and determined 20 species of caterpillars from the fam. Geometridae. The highest number of species belong to the genus Erannis (4), while the genera Alsophila, Apocheima, Biston and Collotois are represented by one species each. The most harmful and numerous were Operophthera brumata L., Errannis defoliaria CI., and Erannis leucophaeraria Schiff.
