In thea verage values of the diameter increment the superiority of the late- flushing form is not clear. On one plot (No. II) it is greater in the late flushing form, on the other plot (No. Ill) it is smaller than in the early-flushing form (No. 1). In all probability, in the late-flushing form on plot III the diameter increment had already culminated and at the moment of the investigation it slightly decreased. The superiority of the late-flushing form over the early-flushing one is also visible in the development of crowns. This is visible in the length of crowns especially in their width, or in the size of the horizontal crown projection per one ha and averagingly per one tree. A particular superiority of the late-flushing form is visible in the increment production per unit of shaded area. While in the early- flushing form it amounts only to 1.19 drn´/m´, in the late-flushing form it amounts to 1.66 and 1.82 dmW. Observing the stem development (on the basis of 6 analysed stems) a culmination of current annual diameter and height increments is visible. The first culminates between the 5th and 10th years and the second one between the 5th and 15th years of the stem age. But, at the same time, it is visible that up to the age of 45 years (till 1972) new maxima appear, which, according to their magnitude, are very close to the first ones. Which reveals that the stands have not been tended, and that the first maximum had set in early thanks to a too closed canopy, and that the new maxima appeared in dependence on later openings-up of the stands (naturally or through thinnings during the last years). In the dynamic of diameter increment during the growing season (1972) it was noticed that the first culmination of the daily magnitudes in both the forms was approximately equal. Later, in June and later, in the late-flushing forms the daily magnitudes of diameter increment are greater, and on the plotted lines of daily magnitudes there still culminations by twos, which in the early-flushing form is either absent or insufficiently expressed. From which it may be inferred that the late-flushing form surpasses the early-flushing one in diameter increment in the second half of the growing period. OBAVIJEST!
