Premda je niz godina radio u inozemstvu, V. TREGUBOV je uvijek
ostao tijesno povezan sa životom, šumarskim zbivanjima i istraživalačkim
radom u svojoj novoj domovini. Premda umirovljen odmah se aktivno uključio
u rad Biološkeg instituta Jovana Hadžija u Ljubljani.


Još 3. siječnja o. g. smo u Zagrebu raspravljali o našim fitocenološkim
aktualnostima. Živo je govorio o svojim sintetskim tabelama šuma bukve,


o problematici zaštite čovjekove okoline, o predstojećoj ekskurziji Istočnoalpsko-
Dinarske sekcije Međunarodnog društva za istraživanje vegetacije,
koju je trebao voditi kroz najljepše šume smreke u Sloveniji i o mnogim
drugim planovima.
Međutim . . . već za nekoliko dana, zapanjujući iznenada . . . prerana
smrt prekinula je sve te planove i u Ljubljani je pokopan prof, dr ing.
VLADO TREGUBOV, jedan između malobrojnih pionira i vrlo agilnih istraživača
u oblasti šumarske fitocenologijc i tipologije šuma.
