DEPENDENCE OF TIME EXPENDITURE FOR COLLECTING AUSTRIAN PINE RESIN ON WORKING CONDITINOS Summary On the basis of results of previous investigations the author assumes that the time expenditure required by a work element depends on the height of the cup above ground, the inclination of the slope, and the resin content in the cup. The correlative connection between the time consumption by the work element on one hand, and the height of the cup above ground, the inclination of the slope, and the resin content in the cup on the other, is defined by means of a multiple correlation and algebraic-graphical method. On the basis of results the following conclusions are drawn: 1. Expenditure of net time for the collection of resin depends on the height of the face above ground, the inclination of the slope, and the resin content izi the cup. By applying the algebraic-graphical method of multiple correlation it was proved that between the time expenditure and the mentioned factors there exists a very close correlative connection; by means of a third approximation a satisfactory result was obtained. 2. At a definite height of a face above ground and inclination of the slope, the expenditure of net time (or of the time with addition) for the collection of the resin per unit weight depends on the resin content in the cup; with increasing the resin content from 12 to 29 dkg. the mentioned time expenditure decreases, and thereafter increases. 3. The time spent on walking from tree to tree with respect to the weight unit of collected resin decreases with increasing the resin content in the cup. 4. By adding together the times under 2) and 3) as represented in Tab. 2 and Fig. 11. it is possible to determine the minimum of the total time expenditure per weight unit of collected resin (with respect to the resin content in the cups). The minimum time expenditure represents at the same time also the minimum work expenditure requiered for the collection of resin. |
